Last week, Forbes reported that Halloween spending in the US is expected to be around $11.3 billion this year. With that kind of skin in the zombie game, we decided to turn to the Lightspeed GMI Mobile Panel for a pulse check on what tricks (and treats) consumers have up their sleeves for Halloween 2014.
As you’ll see in the infographic, of those we surveyed* a surprising 74% said they still like to dress-up for Halloween and more than half (55%) plan on attending parties. And while costume choices included a fair share of traditional goblins and ghosts, this year adults are taking costume inspiration from Hollywood in everything from Disney to Daryl Dixon. Leading the way as the most popular entertainment-themed costume trend for men is the Walking Dead, while women by far are embracing their inner Disney princesses. The women we surveyed favored the big screen’s newest animated royalty, Frozen’s Elsa and Anna, though Jezebel provides apocalyptical costume pointers for those who prefer the women of the Walking Dead.
Whether it’s holiday trends or current events, the highly profiled Lightspeed GMI Mobile panel is an ideal solution for engaging opted-in consumers and getting their in-the-moment thoughts. Our mobile panel is built on the same state-of-the-art platform used to conduct our online surveys, so the result is high quality data and actionable consumer insights.
